Artisanal Wines at Affordable Prices
The philosophy at Table Wine is “Artisanal Wines at Affordable Prices”, and we believe that the best wines come from small, artisan, family estates and producers. Just like the tomatoes you buy from a small family farmer at a farmer’s market in Asheville taste better than the ones you buy at the grocery store, we believe that the same premise applies to wine. You may disagree, but we invite you to stop by and take “The Pepsi Challenge”.
We currently stock about 400 different wines, with over 100 selections at $15 or less per bottle, as well as a carefully selected assortment of craft beers. In addition, we offer aggressive volume discounts of 10% off on 6 bottles, 15% off on 12, and 20% off on 60. We love stocking and selling wines from producers who pursue the following methods and techniques:
Biodynamic, Organic, Low-Impact Farming
Hand Harvesting and Sorting of Grapes
Use of Native Yeasts for Fermentation
Avoidance of Chemical/Mechanical Manipulations
Production of Wines That Express Regional Authenticity
Whether you live in Asheville or are just visiting, this is the wine shop for those who want to know a little more about the wine they’re drinking and who prefer hand-crafted, traditionally made wines that taste delicious over mass produced, laboratory made wines that lack soul or character. We’ve got wines for every type of palate and budget, and we’re here to help you make an educated choice. Our overall goal is on the long-term development of a market for real and authentic wine in the US…..we’ll start with Asheville! We hope you come check us out.

Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
Almost 3 years. Since July of 2010.
What is your primary product or service?
Wine
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
After graduating from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1998, I moved to Aspen, Colorado to "play". My first and only job there was at a wine shop in Snowmass Village and I caught the wine bug. From there, I moved on to managing a small wine store in Washington, D.C. for about a year and then took a position with a large wine distributor, servicing accounts in the Northern Virginia area. My wife and I moved to Asheville in 2003 and I took a job at The Asheville Wine Market, where I worked for nearly 2 years before taking a position as a Territory Sales Manager with The Country Vintner, a Richmond-based importer and distributor. I worked for them up until November of 2009 before leaving to focus on my own business. The rest is history!
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Table Wine specializes in wines from small, family owned and operated wineries from all parts of the world. We think that the best wines are made by farmers in the vineyard, as opposed to the many wines on the market that are made in large, factory-like facilities in a "processed food" like fashion.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Just one and no, we don't plan to expand.

Cash, Local Checks, Mastercard, Visa, American Express
