How long have you been in business?
Since 1987
What is your primary product or service?
We are a bed and breakfast.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
We have always enjoyed hospitality, and when we moved to Asheville, we wanted to be a part of the incredible bed and breakfast community. We bought the Applewood Manor in 2016 ffrom the previous owners. We are the fifth owners of the inn. We have a varied background. The ownership and management team consists of three people. AJ Grein is a physician, specializing in Pediatrics. Joshua Poindexter is an interior designer, and Chase McWhorter is an Army veteran who now works in landscaping and sustainable gardening. Bramley is our dog, greeting guests and requesting rubs daily.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We have taken the idea of a bed and breakfast and updated the model. Our design aesthetic is more modern and comfortable. We grow much of our food that we serve to our guests, and the menu we serve is eclectic and not typical breakfast fare.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We have one location, in the Montford historic district of Asheville.
